ACP has worked for many government agencies. Projects includes the design of new barracks at Pirbright, Blandford and most recently the total rebuild of the Victoria Barracks Windsor, where the new buildings were designed to have minimal impact on the historic Windsor townscape. The Home Office was and remains one of ACP main user clients, with prisons at Bovingdon and Littlehey in Cambridgeshire. At Bedford prison ACP's design for the house block became a Home Office standard. More recently ACP carried out a redevelopment programme at Wormwood Scrubs to address the problem of substandard accommodation and to extend the present facilities to create a more up-to-date institution. Overseas, ACP designed and supervised the construction of new prisons for four UK island dependencies in the Caribbean. Under a framework agreement with the Home Office Building Estates Management Unit (BEMU) we have completed 60 projects, comprising mainly building refurbishment projects interspersed with feasibility studies, accommodation audits, space planning studies, preparation of briefs and employers requirement documents and planning applications. ACP was the consortium architect for a recently completed Logford House PFI project adjacent to Heathrow Airport for the Home Office Immigration and Nationality Directorate. |
